Waste paper pulped locally from 1 October; mixed paper now recyclable
With the EcoPark pulping facility running since July, the EPD says all waste paper collected in Hong Kong will be pulped locally from 1 October 2026 instead of exported. Recyclable paper widens from cardboard, newspapers and office paper to mixed paper such as paper bags, packaging boxes and wrapping paper, so households can put these out for recycling too.
